Pain in the .... Lung?

So, since Friday evening, I have been having pains in my right shoulder. They started as gas-like pain, but subsided to bearability with Ibuprofen and rest. Last night I started having a grabbing pain in my mid-back. It was intense enough to head to the ER. Our awesome friend, Lara, came over just before 10PM to be with the kids. Finally after blood work, chest x-ray, and a CT scan, I found out I have a blood clot in the lower portion of my right lung. They gave me meds and instructions and sent me home. It didn't really hit me how BIG this was until I called my mom. Anyway, what I thought were symptoms of Pleurisy were signs of this clot. I have a follow-up Dr. visit this week and will keep you posted to changes. For now, I'll be fine (and I'm getting out of "non-essential" work). The shock is over now and I just have to either give myself a shot twice daily or beg my fabulous neighbors (RN's) to do it for me...I vote the latter!!

I hope you get feeling better soon. It is good you have people around you to help give your shots...I don't even think I could give myself one.

What?!@@$*?!!

Are you sure you are okay? Can I do anything for you?!!! Except the shots- I can't help you there. Sorry! Glad you have RN neighbors for that!

Thinking of you...

I went to the ER for pleurisy a few years ago. I was really worried about it, but they just put me on ibuprofen for a while. I hope you are doing alright! And ya, can't help with the shots unless you want to clean up my own throw up or wake me up after I pass out on your kitchen floor!

Melissa I heard about this from Lara. I called and wondered why she was still in bed at 10:00. She said she has been at your house all night. I am so glad that they caught it in time. You were so good to go to the hospital immediately. Would love to do anything to help you out. (You need someone to hold Lucy don't you :)
