A bad case of the grumps!

All this week I've woken up grumpy. I'm not sure why, but I don't like it. This morning just after 6AM, my 3-year-old came in telling me he was wet and wanted his diaper changed. Rather than just take care of it and go back to bed, I told him to go get a diaper and I'd do it. I did this knowing it was unlikely he would return with a diaper (I was right). However, on his way to his room, he woke up his sister, who cried until I convinced him to give her a binky. Not long after, the crying continued, Rich got Lucy out and there were then 4 people in my bed rather than 2. The two little extras are snugglers, so instead of a cozy morning in bed it was 2 little people jumping and climbing on 2 big people who in turn snapped and growled back.

NOT a good way to start my morning.

Is this something I should get used to? Or would it be okay to lock my door until I'm ready to get up (maybe I need to lock the kids' doors - oooh, not safe, I know).

What. to. do.....

It doesn't end-good luck-I have a 2 year old in my bed by about 4am and then the rest by 7am. I am SOOOO not a morning person, so I end up grouchy for a short period of time every morning!

That's not helping...:)...but I'm glad to know I'm not alone!!

It's so nice when they are a bit older and can go downstairs and watch TV and make themselves a bowl of cereal. I like my sleep too much and get very grumpy when woken up before I really have to be.

2 words, Floor Beds. Oh how I have loved not having the kids in my bed with feet in my back and fingers up my nose.
give it a try next time.( put a pillow on the floor in advance!)

I feel your pain. Jack is in my bed EVERY NIGHT and wakes me up by yelling MOM...MOM...MOM...EVERY MORNING! It used to be cute and funny, now it gets on my nerves. some days, if I am lucky, one of his sisters will come and rescue me and take Jack downstairs to watch TV. good times...i know none of this helps you, but now you know you REALLY aren't alone. :-)

I'm trying to become a morning person right now and after three weeks, I'm still grumpy every day- even though I love how much I get done.

Julie is right- they learn to turn on the tv and pour a bowl of cereal- those days will come.
