digging out

Well, after the last storm, Rich was able to find the driveway again. And, something odd was on the porch this morning...yellow snow...no footprints...hmmm. Oh well. I'm so glad I didn't have to go anywhere yesterday or this morning. I do have to admit a little disappointment: My school district delayed school for 2 hours this morning. I'm fairly confident this will never happen again in my teaching career. That means I missed out on the one time I could be late for work without any repercussions...oh wait...I'm off track - I don't have to leave my pajamas for three weeks if I choose. My back porch looks so serene and peaceful. It's covered in a perfect blanket of snow. As I look beyond the porch into the backyard, I'm reminded of...of...hmmm...the wilderness. The beauty of nature covered in snow. Then I see the fence and I know that under that beautiful blanket of snow is a backyard full of wild weeds and dirt ready to be tamed this spring. That was the plan last spring, we'll see what happens this year. The nice thing about snow is it covers all the ugliness of winter...that's now winter is bearable to me.
